Infrastructure update kills view functionality in picture libraries
Just came across this one, and it is still a theory at this stage but it looks pretty solid - when you apply the recently released infrastructure update to SharePoint 2007 it kills some of the functionality in picture libraries in MOSS. You can still create views and all that, and the selected pictures bit is fine, but you lose the ability to change a view from thumbnails to details or slide show views - it is always locked on thumbnail. The fly out menu you normally get to change this does not appear at all.
I have tested this one 3 servers now - one is a clean install of MOSS with the infrastructure update and the other two are our dev machines for the project we are working on currently, and one of them does not have the infrastructure update on it - and the only one to work as expected was the one without the update. No matter where we created our picture libraries, even when we did it in brand new web applications without any of our custom code near it, my theory that the update is killing the functionality holds true.
If anyone else is experiencing this I would love to hear about it - leave a comment here letting me know what you have found.
UPDATE: We have heard back from Microsoft on this one, the word is that it is a known issue and they are working on a fix for it.
